The following are the requirements for National Open University of Nigeria;

Undergraduate Programmes

  • Applicants need 5 O-level credits, including English and Mathematics.
  • Additional requirements vary by programme and can be checked on the Faculty’s admission page.
  • Application steps:
    • Select Faculty, Programme, and Entry Level to view requirements.
    • Submit pre-payment form and generate an RRR invoice via Remita for payment.
    • Complete the online application form after successful payment.
  • Payments can be made online or at a bank branch, with specific procedures for each.
  • The admission process is automated, and results are almost immediate.

Postgraduate Programmes

  • All applicants need 5 O-level credits, including English and Mathematics. Some programmes may accept a pass in Mathematics.
  • Postgraduate Diploma:
    • Minimum of a pass in a Bachelor’s degree or Lower Credit in HND from a recognized institution.
    • Special requirements for some diplomas, e.g., a law degree for Legislative Drafting.
  • Master’s Degree:
    • Second Class Lower Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or Lower classification with 2 years of experience.
    • Alternatives include a Postgraduate Diploma or Upper Credit in HND.
    • Professional memberships may qualify for MBA programmes.
  • PhD Programmes:
    • A Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 60% average or a CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale.
